We did get to try Gene's Rootbeer in Anderson- and oh my what a treat! The root beer was earthy and sweet, and the softserve ice cream was dairy-rich, thick, and woooonnderfullll. I seriously need to return to sample their signature "Spanish Dogs"- which are, the carhop said, like chili dogs. Hey, that's a quick way to my heart.
